Horrifying. Disturbing. Heartwrenching. Everything I'd look for in a book dealing with the themes The Road touches heavily on. Easily the best post-apocalyptic book that I've read. Particularly loved how we never learn the characters names and I liked not knowing what caused the end of the world—left more to the imagination. I don't scare easily but the cannibals did it for me. Whew, that basement part was terrifying. Absolutely wicked book.
